A restaurant in Latakia’s Sheikh Dahir Square hosted around 150 people on Saturday for a mass iftar event titled Mawa’ed Al-Rahman (Tables of Mercy), bringing the community together during Ramadan.
Footage from the event shows staff preparing meals as locals gathered to break their fast at dusk. Organizers emphasized the importance of unity, with Mohammed Zouham al-Amir stating, “Eating together bolsters unity, strengthens our bonds, and reminds us that we are all brothers in this country.”
Ramadan, a month of fasting and devotion, comes this year amid escalating violence in Syria’s coastal regions. Reports indicate over 1,300 deaths, with accusations of revenge attacks between pro- and anti-government groups.
