Quetta Gladiators stormed to their third consecutive victory in the HBL PSL as Khurram Shahzad delivered a fiery spell, dismantling Multan Sultans for a mere 89 runs—their lowest total in PSL history—at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday night.

Dominant Bowling Performance Powers Quetta

The spotlight was firmly on Khurram Shahzad, who earned the Player of the Match award after claiming 4 wickets for 23 runs in just four overs. He was ably supported by Mohammad Wasim Jnr (2-18) and Faheem Ashraf (2-21), as the Sultans’ batting collapsed under relentless pressure.

Khurram removed the top four Multan batters within the first 11 balls of his spell, leaving the scoreboard reeling at 20-4. Faheem struck twice in quick succession, dismissing Iftikhar Ahmed and Michael Bracewell, reducing the Sultans to 43-6 by the 10th over.

Rizwan’s Lone Resistance Not Enough

Multan skipper Mohammad Rizwan tried to anchor the innings with a resilient 44 off 44 balls, including three boundaries and a six. However, with no other batsman crossing double digits—except for Usama Mir (11 off 6)—Multan folded for just 89 runs in 17 overs.

Allen and Saud Seal Victory

Chasing the modest total, Finn Allen and Saud Shakeel turned the game into a highlight reel. The duo reached the target in just 6.5 overs, making it one of the most dominant chases in PSL history.

Allen blasted 45 not out off 21 balls, smashing four sixes and three fours. Saud Shakeel matched the aggression with 42 not out off 20 balls, hammering four sixes and three boundaries. Their 90-run unbeaten stand ensured a 10-wicket win for Quetta, who now rise to second on the points table with four wins in six games.

Multan Sultans Slump Continues

With only one win in seven matches, Multan Sultans find themselves in deep trouble as the tournament progresses. They will look to bounce back in their upcoming match against Karachi Kings on May 1, again at Gaddafi Stadium.
