The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched its electrifying “Will to Win” campaign ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, kicking off on September 30. This dynamic initiative celebrates the grit, determination, and transformative journeys of women cricketers, spotlighting their rise from humble beginnings to global stardom. Hosted in India after a 12-year hiatus, the tournament promises to unite millions through a shared spirit of perseverance, with a powerful narrative that positions women’s cricket as a beacon of empowerment.

Storytelling that Strikes a Chord

The campaign’s centerpiece is an emotionally charged film, available at the ICC’s official website, which weaves together the inspiring stories of cricket’s leading women. From India’s Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur to Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu, Australia’s Ellyse Perry, and others like Marizanne Kapp, Muneeba Ali, Nigar Sultana Joty, Amelia Kerr, and Nat Sciver-Brunt, the film captures their relentless pursuit of greatness. Through vivid imagery and seamless transitions, it showcases their early dreams, sacrifices, and moments of triumph, connecting fans to the heart of the sport.

This storytelling approach transcends the game, highlighting how cricket empowers women to overcome adversity and chase their ambitions. The campaign underscores that success is forged through years of dedication, making it a universal tale of resilience that resonates far beyond the pitch.

India’s Role and Affordable Access for All

Returning to India after over a decade, the 2025 World Cup is set to make history with its accessibility. Tickets for league matches start at an unprecedented INR 100 (approximately USD 1.14), the lowest for any ICC global event, ensuring packed stadiums and vibrant fan energy. The general ticket window is open at the official ticketing site, inviting fans to join the celebration across five iconic venues: DY Patil Stadium (Navi Mumbai), ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam), and R Premadasa Stadium (Colombo, Sri Lanka).

ICC Chairman Jay Shah emphasized the campaign’s purpose: “The ‘Will to Win’ campaign captures the soul of women’s cricket—its struggles, triumphs, and unbreakable spirit. As India leads the charge in championing the women’s game, this tournament is a platform to inspire millions and leave a lasting legacy.”

A Global Stage for Women’s Cricket

From September 30 to November 2, 2025, the 13th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will feature 31 thrilling matches, with eight top teams vying for the coveted title. The tournament not only showcases world-class talent but also aims to inspire the next generation of players and fans. By blending real-time action with evocative storytelling, the “Will to Win” campaign amplifies the sport’s global appeal, uniting diverse audiences in a shared celebration of women’s achievements.

The 2025 World Cup is more than a sporting event; it’s a movement. By highlighting the journeys of cricket’s female pioneers, the ICC is fostering a narrative of empowerment and equality. Affordable ticketing and a focus on accessibility ensure that fans from all walks of life can witness this historic moment. As the world gears up for a month of exhilarating cricket, the “Will to Win” campaign stands as a testament to the transformative power of sport in shaping dreams and breaking barriers.
