Heavy Snowfall in France | Transport Chaos Hits Roads, Trains & Airports

Heavy snowfall across France caused widespread disruption on Wednesday, bringing roads, rail services, and airports to a standstill. More than 1,600 kilometres of traffic jams were reported nationwide as snow and ice forced road closures and travel restrictions. Paris and surrounding regions were placed on orange alert, with emergency snow measures activated, public bus services suspended, and train services severely disrupted. Air travel was also heavily affected, with hundreds of flights cancelled at Charles de Gaulle, Orly, and Beauvais airports. The severe winter weather also impacted wider Western Europe, complicating international travel and connections to and from France.
