The Moroccan Women’s Association of Catalonia organized a community Iftar in Barcelona, providing meals not only for local Muslims but also for the homeless and less fortunate. Volunteers and the association’s president, Faouzia Chati, prepared and distributed traditional Moroccan dishes, including harira, to those in need.
For the past nine years, the association has hosted daily Iftar meals in the Raval district, creating a space for community bonding. Volunteers like Valeria Rodriguez, who found a sense of belonging through the initiative, highlighted the impact of the event in uniting people during Ramadan. Spain’s Muslim population, estimated at nearly 2.5 million, continues to celebrate Ramadan with such community efforts that emphasize generosity, togetherness, and support for the less fortunate.
