The Taliban government has opened the Mujahid Museum in Afghanistan’s Maidan Wardak Province, showcasing weapons and homemade explosives used during its two-decade conflict with U.S. forces and the former Afghan administration. The museum, created by the Department of Information and Culture, features suicide vests, landmines, barrel bombs, and remote-detonated devices—many of which were crafted from repurposed ammunition. Taliban officials say the exhibits serve to honor the Mujahideen’s resistance. Alongside 33 military items, the museum also includes over 50 ancient cultural artifacts, offering visitors a stark and controversial look at Afghanistan’s wartime legacy.
