Pakistan’s Under-19 cricket team has landed in the UAE with fire in their eyes and a point to prove. Fresh off an intense training camp, the Green Shirts kick off their ACC U19 Asia Cup 2025 campaign TODAY against Malaysia at The Sevens Stadium, Dubai, in what captain Farhan Yousaf calls “the perfect opportunity to set the tone.”

Placed in a blockbuster Group A alongside arch-rivals India, hosts UAE, and Malaysia, Pakistan know that a flying start could pave the way straight to the December 21 final at the iconic ICC Academy Ground.

Full Pakistan U19 Schedule (All matches start 9:00 AM UAE time)

  • 12 Dec vs Malaysia – The Sevens Stadium
  • 14 Dec vs India – The Sevens Stadium (Sunday blockbuster!)
  • 16 Dec vs UAE – The Sevens Stadium Semi-finals: 19 Dec | Final: 21 Dec at ICC Academy

Six Battle-Hardened Returnees Ready to Settle Scores

Pakistan are not walking in blind. Six players from the squad that reached the semi-finals in the 2023 edition (also held in UAE) are back with unfinished business after that heartbreaking loss to Bangladesh.

Key men to watch:

  • Abdul Subhan (Right-arm quick) – 9 wickets in last Asia Cup, including a devastating 6/57
  • Usman Khan (VC, Left-hand batter) – Smashed 101 runs last time, including a classy fifty
  • Mohammad Huzaifa (Left-arm spinner) – 5/8 in his only match last edition – pure magic!
  • Ali Raza, Ahmed Hussain & captain Farhan Yousaf – all bringing priceless big-stage experience

Coach Shahid Anwar: “These Boys Never Give Up”

Speaking exclusively after the first training session in Dubai, head coach Shahid Anwar revealed the secret sauce behind the team’s preparation:

“We left no stone unturned in Karachi – technical skills, tactical planning, mental conditioning and physical fitness – everything was covered. Because of the windy Dubai conditions we put massive focus on fielding drills: anticipation, quick reactions and catching moving balls. Bowlers trained specifically on running into the wind, choosing angles and maintaining rhythm. The best part about this group? They adapt lightning fast and they simply refuse to give up. This is a high-pressure tournament, but these boys are born for it.”
