In a thrilling conclusion to the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Shaheen Shah Afridi has not only led Lahore Qalandars to their third PSL title in four years, but has also been named captain of the Team of HBL PSL X, capping off a remarkable personal and team campaign.

This year’s PSL, staged from April 11 to May 25 across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, culminated in a stunning final at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium, where Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators by six wickets to lift the trophy once again.

Shaheen Shah Afridi Shines as Captain and Bowler

The 25-year-old left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was in sensational form throughout the tournament, clinching the prestigious Fazal Mahmood Cap for finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 19 wickets in 13 matches. His ability to lead from the front with the new ball and his sharp cricketing instincts have made him a standout performer and a deserving captain of the Team of the Tournament selected by an expert commentary panel.

Lahore Qalandars Dominate with Three Selections

The championship-winning Qalandars boast three players in the PSL X Team of the Tournament:

  • Shaheen Shah Afridi (Captain): 19 wickets in 13 matches

  • Sikandar Raza: All-round brilliance with 254 runs and 10 wickets in 11 matches

  • Fakhar Zaman: Consistent top-order contributions with 439 runs, including four fifties

Their collective efforts played a pivotal role in Lahore’s dominant campaign and ultimate triumph.

Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings Also Well Represented

Despite falling short in the final, Quetta Gladiators earned praise for their resilient campaign and have three representatives in the elite squad:

  • Hasan Nawaz: The tournament’s Best Batter with 399 runs, including a century and three fifties

  • Faheem Ashraf: All-round impact with 163 runs and 17 wickets

  • Abrar Ahmed: A key spin weapon, taking 17 wickets in 12 matches

Karachi Kings, who finished third on the points table, also placed three players in the squad:

  • David Warner: The experienced Australian led with authority, scoring 368 runs with three fifties

  • James Vince: Another reliable contributor with 378 runs, including a century

  • Hasan Ali: Spearheaded the bowling attack with 17 wickets

Khushdil Shah, another Karachi Kings all-rounder, has been named as the 12th man, having scored 253 runs and taken seven wickets in 11 matches.

Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi Get One Spot Each

  • Sahibzada Farhan of Islamabad United was the tournament’s highest run-scorer, earning the Hanif Mohammad Cap with 449 runs, including one century and three fifties. He is also named the wicket-keeper of the team.

  • Ali Raza, the exciting young pacer from Peshawar Zalmi, impressed as an emerging talent with 12 wickets in nine matches, earning him a spot in the elite XI.
